yowza.

My best friend turned 23 yesterday - of course I made her a dress! It's always fun exercising my talents. Tailor made dress for the star! The chain work gave me a headache.

Yeah I made my dress too... meow baby. mc3!

oh, and though my link will actually give you a definition of pnigophobia - it's also a handy little sex dictionary that includes 14 different ways to say semen (for those of you who are old enough to appreciate it ;)

hallow's eve

I was so relieved Roger was able to come out...

For some ungodly reason, I have absolutely no pictures of my back that night (?!?) so here it is on my body form. Of course it looked way better on human skin & curves - this picture doesn't do it much justice.  This one could be titled: "In Time Out w/ Mr. Enormous." Bad[ass] dress! Now think about all the heartache you've caused...

Yeah, making it was only half as fun as wearing it.

not so mundane monday

Yeah, it's November. But we live in San Diego, California. It's hot outside. This modified hood tee is perfect to give your winter wardrobe a heat wave. The slouchy side pocket made out of the actual hood part is my favorite detail, but the gathers in front are femininely
eye-catching.

TIP: if you're going airy on top w/crops or tied tees, keep it covered on the bottom, okay Mariah Carey?

The jeans are of my own design. I made them super long so I'd be able to scrunch them all the way up my legs. Once sewn, I threw them into the bathtub for a DIY bleach job.

This necklace is one of my personal faves. The finish on the chain I found to use had been chemically altered from a spiral perm I gave my mom. I assume it was one of those gold plated type, then doused in perm solution. I picked this incredible pendant up @ the swap meet from a dashing older lady who collected antiques her entire life. bam. brought back to life.

why don't you do right

Get out of here, give me some money too! Jessica Rabbit is hitting the town tonight. Happy Halloween you sexy people!

an essential female item

My eyes stumbled upon this incredible Girl's Guidebook while I was waiting for my # to be up @ the fabric store cutting table. Once I opened it, I knew I had to have it! A flood of memories rushed to the surface of my skin & I knew I had uncovered the next female essential:

It covers everything from making daisy chains & ivy crowns to spy lingo, club house & fort construction, and whistling with 2 fingers. It also includes very valuable information on important women throughout history, finance: interest, stocks & bonds, foreign languages, AND scientific creations such as the lemon-powered clock!

Definitely a must-read for every girl with an independent spirit & a nose for trouble.

get shanked

My jewelry line, ChaotiX, is coming out soon. But here's a sneak preview of my first piece of treasure. I've only got 5 pair of these bad girls - and I have a feeling they're gonna go quick! Don't be too intimidated by these little 1 & a half inchers, they're super light and the blade is dull. Just don't wear them into the airport, eh?

I shot her, bang bang.

"Bohemian Goddess"

"Whip Country"

"Harajuku"

"Late Romance"

We spent 5 hours on this shoot, 2-3 cocktails, & 1 battery recharge. My little suitcase full of tricks packed a punch this time!

lashing out

Faking it ain't so bad when it comes to lashes.. but faking knowing how to put them on is a damn crime. Here's a lil help:

raging

Last night is going down in the history books! My girlie friends came out looking hot (as always) and we showed Hard Rock who parties like the Sex Pistols. My best friend since high school, Miss DJ Ayla Simone, was working the turntables @ Club 207 in the Hard Rock Hotel - throwing down sets nobody could stand still to & the crowd was rowdy & boisterous, just how I like 'em! Yay for Friday nights, BFF's rockstar boyfriend, tequila, and fabulous females!!

definition of anti-fashion

Okay. So some of you are probably asking yourselves "what the hell is an anti-fashion fashion designer doing designing fashion?!"

No, I'm not AGAINST looking fashionable. However, I don't agree with the whole "everybody fits into a certain style tribe and conforms to their chosen 'uniform'". I think there are some people who just. like. fashion.

Whether it be the shredded-to-hell denim with black biker boots wrapped with chains one day, a flouncy floral chiffon spaghetti strap topped & rayon-bottomed shortsuit w/white peep toe booties & fringed bag on Tuesday, a pair of regular boot cut jeans & a tye-dye V-neck & baseball cap on Saturday, and a swimsuit, beach hair and crocheted cover-up on Sunday. I. JUST. LOVE. FASHION!

Clothes and jewelry come in so many different styles that all say very different things! I just try them all out. Not everybody conforms to a "cohesive practical collection of ready-to-wear" either. And I sure as hell won't for my first clothing line! Mine is going to be eclectic, unpredictable, and definitely not something that will fade like a trend in time.

I get it though. A large majority of people do only stay on their comfort level of dressing, thus making target markets a very valuable piece of profitable information especially for mass-producing clothing labels aimed at mass consumer targets. I think my market is a bit smaller than "the department store junkie" though, and yet is as wide as the world. I like multi-cultural statement pieces, disco bunny attire, bar-hopping biker chic grunge, incredibly cute & comfortable loungewear, piano bar temptress glamour, sun-bleached sand babe garb, metropolis girl extraordinaire/working mistress attire, down home country-gal spirit, high society madame regalia, and everything that falls in between.

Anti-fashion to me means I despise the predictability from season to season. I scoff at the boring, hideous fads that disguise themselves as trends. And I absolutely do not want to be a part of the nose-raising hot heads who think that fashion is LIFE. Because, actually, there's a lot more to it than just that.

obnoxious aesthetics

I'm feeling it. People had to put on their shades when I walked in. These shoes are the greatest addition to any outfit! Definitely up there on my "thank god I cruised ebay" list. The bag is a cheap find. As for the incredible checkered stockings: click here to create your own custom hosiery!

October's not over yet! If you want to cop some pink strands head into A Style Concierge downtown San Diego & let Michael Lee & his stylist team hook you up. They've got some serious new threads in their boutique as well, featuring a few local fashion designers' work. You'll come out guaranteed looking bomb.com!

homegurl up in Kanye's short film

Yeppp, that's Xela! She's studying fashion design w/me @ my school. All I'm wondering is why does Kanye have to be so soused and all up in her face w/his hands? Girl's super talented! Check the link:

Kanye in dir. Spike Jonze short film "We Were Once A Fairytale"

we all ♥ BOOBIES

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! And I've been trying to rock pink on a daily basis. Mostly, it's been pink wigs or extensions - to really get my point across. So far, been getting great feedback. Ah, I love charity! Rock the PINK!

feeling catty

Recently I've been feeling crazy. Yeah yeah the good kind. Someone even told me the other night that my outfit confused them - that's what I was going for... I always love walking into a room full of people who are wearing the typical attire and immediately they look @ me and give me a look that tells me they're wondering how I came up with my ensemble. Well people, here's my answer: sometimes I get dressed in the dark (which is my most recent excuse since my electricity has been malfunctioning for a few weeks), and other times I pile on random articles of clothing just hoping to strike a new look.

Hello All! My end of the year resolution is to be an avid blogger... the best has yet to come. Believe me. From my DIY Halloween costume to my new jewelry line and upcoming fashion show, this spot is gonna be H-O-T!

It always takes some time for the fog to clear. But cleared it has. And I'm coming out to the world! Hope it's ready...

As Cool As Stone

Lindsey Baker is a local San Diego jewelry designer who makes all of her jewelry by hand and sells them for affordable prices. Her style is really organic and earthy. I'm totally digging this marble stone ring!

Head Over These Heels

Ummm, yes. I'll be buying these as soon as my car insurance is paid off! In every color? I honestly need an entire new shoe wardrobe (I know, I know. Those who know me say that's the LAST thing I need). But really. The last pair I bought were my Betsey Johnsons around this time last year. The rest are 4+ years old. ::opening a new bank account for my shoe budget::

Mary Jane

Not only good for shoes, run-ins with the law officers, and country bumpkin names. No, MARYJANE'S is also a great place for brunch! Located downtown San Diego in the Hard Rock Hotel, this classy little joint serves sparkling mimosas and a kickin bloody mary. The menu is enticing and hard to choose from - so go in with some time to burn!

If you're out for a Sunday Funday, hop upstairs after brunch and check out Intervention (the Hard Rock's weekly pool party)!

Make sure to bring your best suit - the place is FASH.

CHEERS!

Fashion Cuts

I would love nothing more than to snip my stray threads with this little birdie. He is adorable!

Scissors: Michael's

Body Candy

How about a plethora of delicious baubles? Most of them are my thrift store gems. The others: Mexico. You'd be surprised what you can find @ the Salvation Army -- leave your ego at the door and allow yourself to get all up in it. Ain't no shame in the thrift store game!

The "Suit"

I've been getting positive feedback from this bodysuit. It also goes great under jeans or a belted skirt. Eat it up.

Trashy vs. Classy

Really? A Michael Jackson impersonator??? Not to mention claw toe up there... Then there's Britney Spears on the bottom left and Zsa Zsa with her boa. And did that girl on the right pass out or has she just deflated?

Dior ♥'s Jordache

The über luxe item in my carry on luggage:
Cat: Dior, Suitcase: Jordache

I've been waiting to use this gorgeous tweed suitcase since I picked it up from the thrift store near my house for $15 (!!!) And what better to stuff in it than a choice selection my most fabulous threads for a weekend trip to Vegas? I may not have $ for the first-class airfare, but @least my carry-on is worthy.

The Bag

Miss Chelsea Chaos pleather & plaid clutch

Yeah, I made this bad boy. It is inspired by London street fashion. Its guts are plaid lined... a sweet little piece of mean.

Vegas Chic

The million dollar question: what to wear in Las Vegas?
Being careful to not cross the line of "trashion" that is synonymous with the city, I've made a dress for my girlfriend's birthday trip. I kept the three basic elements that define the Sin City dress code and added a fourth... short, sexy, shiny - and simple. Getting too crazy with the silhouette would have practically been asking for a prostitution mishap.
(Pay no attention to the thongs hanging on the doorknob. Classy.)

Shoes: Betsey Johnson

This Saturday my baby comes to life in Vegas!
